Forty ACCESS members and guests enjoyed a wonderful lake cruise and buffet luncheon aboard the Nautica Queen on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Three of our newly retiring members were able to attend for a total of twenty-two retirees. Eleven of our active members and seven guests rounded out the group. This was the second year for the luncheon cruise on the Nautica Queen.
Members began arriving at the Nautica dock at 10:00 AM to pick up their boarding passes and became so engrossed in catching up with each other that they needed reminders to actually get on the boat. The cruise and luncheon began at 11:00 AM and lasted a quick two hours. The Nautica Queen is well known for a great buffet and the food did not disappoint. Attendees enjoyed perusing the list of all 170 ACCESS retirees printed in the program. If all of the stories told at the tables could be assembled in to one report it could be a complete history of ACCESS. After the cruise, several members gathered at the Rock Bottom Brewery in the Nautica Powerhouse to continue the stories and fun.
Ticket prices were reduced to $20.00 this year due to the successful Wing Night fundraiser at Scorekeepers Bar & Grill back in January. The Nautica Queen reduced the regular $28.00 price to $25.54 for the retiree group. The new Retirement Fund created with the fundraiser covered the difference and mailing costs. More events are being planned. Download the Reservation Form.
As pictures come in, they will be posted on our Scrapbook Retirement Cruise 2010 page.
The 2010 Luncheon Cruise was the fourth annual retirement recognition that ACCESS has held. The first two dinners were held at the Independence Holiday Inn. To see pictures from these events, for more information, and links to the venues, click on the Scrapbook or Retired menu items at the left.
